3rd March 1998.
The material is mainly generic, and is aimed at First and Second year undergraduates. The 'Computer Sources' package is also suitable for post-graduate level.
The packages can be used for Library user education, study skill support, EFL courses and distance learning.
The packages are modular in structure and interactive and are intended as teaching material.
This package, originally developed in Robert Gordon University for Business Studies students, deals with the whole search strategy including how to use reference works, highlight keywords, find synonyms and related terms, and generate broader or narrower terms.
In this version of the package, the examples have been altered to more general ones in order to make it more widely applicable.
It can be used in seminars and tutorials or as open-access on teaching clusters. Follow-up tasks could be prepared to compliment the tutorials according to the subject area being addressed.
Each package should take about 30-45 minutes to work through.
